Salisbury Police are looking for students who set fires inside two local high schools in two separate incidents there.
The Salisbury High School custodial staff responded Thursday morning to what was initially reported as flooding of the boy’s bathroom on the third and second floors of the school. Someone had stuffed bathroom tissue in a third-floor sink and water began running over onto the floor and leaked into the second floor.
Someone had lit a roll of toilet paper on fire. When the custodial staff arrived to fix the leak, they discovered a the roll of tissue on fire and quickly extinguished it. Police have not made an arrest in this incident, which occurred at 8:55 a.m.
On Friday, a Henderson Independent High School resource officer conducting a walk-through saw what appeared to be a trash bin that had been set on fire and extinguished before his arrival. There were brown paper towels stuffed into the trash can that were set on fire and had been put out not long before the officer stumbled upon it. There was minimal damage, officials said. The incident was reported around 2 p.m.
