A Salisbury man lost his job and faces a felony charge after authorities say over a two-month period he took chicken wings from Walmart, where he worked.
Michael Lee McCullough, 29, of the 500 block of South Clay Street, was charged with felony larceny by employee.
The Salisbury Police received a call from the store’s loss prevention officer who told them they’d watched tapes that showed McCullough taking the wings from the deli without paying for them. He is accused of taking wings at least twice a month beginning Dec. 9 and ending Feb. 3, a report said.
Authorities say McCullough told them he took the chicken because he was having financial problems. He is no longer employed by Walmart.
He was issued a $500 secured bond. He has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
