EAST SPENCER — A former town board member has been appointed to fill the unexpired term of an alderman who recently stepped down.
Deloris High, who served from 2000 to 2008, was selected by the Board of Aldermen to take the place of Theodore Gladden.
Gladden, who had been on the town board six years, resigned his seat for “personal reasons” the town said. His term expires in 2015.
High has also previously served on the town’s Housing Authority board and worked as a receptionist at the Paul Dunbar Resource Center.
“I am honored to serve on the town board and I thank board members for appointing me,” High said in a news release.
