Police are looking for a man who sold a woman duct tape instead of a laptop Monday.
Between 11 a.m. and noon, a woman was shopping at the T-Mobile store located at 1301 E. Innes St. in Salisbury when a man with well-groomed facial hair approached her and started a conversation.
As she walked out of the store, they continued to talk and he asked her if she was interested in buying a laptop.
She agreed, saying she had been planning to buy one for her daughter.
He retrieved the item, which was thickly wrapped in bubble wrap, from his black sedan.
Then, the man went to the FedEx Office Print & Ship Center in the same shopping center to get a box for the object.
She paid him $350 in cash.
Upon arriving home, the woman opened the package to find a block of duct tape in the shape of a laptop instead of a computer.
T-Mobile is working with its corporate office to provide surveillance footage to get a description of the man.
