Marijuana seized from Raleigh man who ran out of gas

Salisbury Police seized four grams of marijuana from a Raleigh man who ran out of gas along the roadside Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of East Innes Street and Interstate 85.
The officer stopped to push the vehicle out of the road. The owner, Jason Marshall Sheffield, 33, of the 3800 block of Lexington Drive, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance schedule VI and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The officer said the odor drew his attention to the marijuana that was found in Sheffield’s pocket.

• Antonio Lamont Gill, 31, was charged Monday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 200 block of East Bank Street.
• A man reported a larceny Tuesday in the 2100 block of Price Road.
• A woman reported her purse was stolen Tuesday while at work in the 300 block of Webb Road.
• A man reported a larceny occurred sometime between March 16 and Tuesday in the 100 block of Middle Brook Drive, Rockwell.
• A man reported a fraud Tuesday in the 1000 block of Chickadee Lane, Woodleaf.
• Nazareth Children’s Home reported a burglary Tuesday in the 700 block of Crescent Road, Rockwell.
• A man reported a moped was taken from an outbuilding Tuesday in the 11900 block of Shinn Road, Mount Ulla.
• A woman reported fraudulent activity involving her credit card occurred sometime between April 11 and Tuesday in the 100 block of Birchwood Drive.
• A man reported a moped was stolen Tuesday in the 700 block of Yost Road.
• Shahannah Nykole Adkins, 23, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 700 block of Harry Street, China Grove.
• Dorothy Rice Williams, 51, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 1100 block of Chickadee Lane, Woodleaf.
