God’s Church of Faith invites all to a free Spring Fest today

KANNAPOLIS — God’s Church of Faith, 811 Elm St., is hosting a Spring Fest Celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today with an inflatable slide and bouncy houses for the kids, live music, drama, free snacks and drinks.
The celebration continues on Sunday at 11 a.m. with worship in the sanctuary, followed by a hotdog picnic lunch. Afterward is an outdoor progam of drama, singing and more. This a free event for all.
The Echoes for Christ will be celebrating their second anniversary today at 5 p.m. at Fairview Heights Baptist Church. In and out of town guest have been invited. The Rev. Clarence Marlin is pastor at Fairview Heights, located at 704 Old Concord Road.
KANNAPOLIS — From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today is the Paws for Celebration & Pet Blessings event, with music, food, pet adoptions, bouncy house and K-9 search and rescue demonstrations.

Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Road, is having their annual BBQ chicken supper today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Half pit-cooked barbecue chicken, baked beans, slaw, dessert, and beverage is $8. Hot dogs also are available.
Proceeds will be used for United Methodist Men and Women’s mission projects.

On the third Sunday of Easter, May 4, First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury will celebrate the ordination and installation of newly elected ministry leaders.
The 8:30 a.m. worship is in the sanctuary and the 8:50 a.m. service is in Lewis Hall. During the 11 a.m. service in the sanctuary, the new ordered ministry leaders will be ordained and installed.
St. Matthew Baptist Church will have its annual Women’s Day program on Sunday. The 11 a.m. speaker will be Minister Barbara Hart of First Calvary Baptist church. The 3 p.m. speaker will be Frenchie McConneaughey, associate pastor of God’s Tabernacle of Believers, Rockwell. The Rev. John Geter is host pastor.
The annual Men’s Day will be observed at New Zion Baptist Church, 2785 Dunn’s Mountain Road, on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The speaker for this occasion will be Elder Dwight Moore, pastor of Disciples For Christ Outreach Ministries in Charlotte. All men from visiting churches will make up a combined male choir.

Word of Life Family Worship Center will have its annual Spring revival Thursday and Friday, May 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. The speaker this year is Apostle Wash Carthon Jr., senoir pastor and founder of School of Tyrannus International Ministries Inc. in Newport News, Va.
He is a 31-year Navy veteran, he holds an associate degree from Central Texas College and bachelor’s of art degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. He is a graduate of International Apostolic University of Grace and Truth in Dayton, Ohio, where he earned his master degree and doctoral degree in Christian Counseling.
He is currently working with the Drug Court in the City of Newport News as an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilitator. Additionally, he is an employed contractor working for the U.S. Navy as an Education Service Trainer, teaching Sailors and their families about the awareness of operational stress control.

KANNAPOLIS — North Kannapolis Baptist Church will hold revival services May 4 through 7 with Dr. James (Jim) Harris of Salisbury as the speaker.

CONCORD — New Beginning Church of God will host a 10th appreciation service for co-pastor Chavis and Lady Tosha Maxwell.
Services will take place beginning on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m.with guest speaker Chris Huffstetler, associate pastor of OneChurch, Greensboro.
Services continue Saturday, May 10 at 11 a.m., and will conclude on Saturday night at 7 p.m. when Minister Jamaine Smith of First Baptist Church Kannapolis, brings the message.
