Traffic stop leads to impaired driving charges for Rowan County man

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged a Rowan County man following a Monday night traffic stop in the 2300 block of Miller Road. Authorities charged Patrick Gene Widenhouse, 29, with driving while impaired, drinking beer while driving, reckless driving and misdemeanor possession of control substance schedule II.
In 2001, he was convicted in Cabarrus County with misdemeanor possession or purchasing a malt beverage by someone under 21 and misdemeanor larceny from a 2009 Cabarrus County offense. A deputy issued a DWI blood test kit be used to determine his blood alcohol content.

• Elvis Lee Thompson, 58, was charged Monday with misdemeanor false report of theft or conversion.
• Daniel Max Lowder, 37, was charged Monday with misdemeanor larceny in the 900 block of Peeler Road.
