Salisbury Police charged a man with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Polo Drive home Thursday night, but he reportedly was interrupted before removing anything.
Cody Lane Morris, 24, was charged Thursday with felony first-degree burglary and misdemeanor domestic criminal trespass. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center without a bond.
A report said the woman heard someone messing with the door and saw the suspect through a mirror hanging in the living room. She told police the suspect said, “I didn’t think you were home.”
The woman told him she was calling police, he took off and jumped into his pickup. She told police he’d moved out a few weeks before and gotten all of his belongings then. She could not say for sure whether anything was stolen.
