Rosters have been finalized for this summer’s East-West All-Star Game at High Point’s Simeon Stadium.
West Rowan’s Scott Young will direct the West squad.
Pisgah’s Brett Chappell, North Davidson’s Mark Holcomb, Wilkes Central’s Jeremy Funderburk, Ashe County’s Keith Phillips and Rockingham County’s Lin Stadler will assist Young.
Players for the West team include West Rowan offensive lineman Chris Hassard (UNC Pembroke), North Rowan linebacker Xavier Robinson (St. Augustine’s), A.L. Brown linebacker Kyrell Williamson (Winston-Salem State) and A.L. Brown DB Johnny Delahoussaey (University of Charleston). Delahoussaey was mostly a receiver for the Wonders this season, but he has played some DB and is listed as a DB on the all-star roster.
Other players from area leagues are Central Cabarrus QB Hasaan Klugh and running back Kenny Purvis, West Forsyth DB Phil Taylor and defensive end Quintin Brinkley and North Davidson defensive lineman Ryan Nunn and offensive lineman Kenneth Page.
Southern Nash’s Brian Foster is the head coach for the East. Assistants include Scotland County’s Richard Bailey.
The game will be played at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at Greensboro’s Jamieson Stadium.
The East-West basketball game is July 21. The East-West soccer game is July 22.
Megan Shortt, a senior at East Forsyth High, will play lacrosse at Catawba.
Shortt set the national record for goals with 459, breaking the old mark of 447, and was featured as in the “Faces in the Crowd” section of Sports Illustrated.

John Owen had two doubles and pitched a complete game.
Jordan Wise and Noah Gonzalez had two hits each.
Rowan will play West Rowan at Newman Park on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Kannapolis Intimidators lost 5-2 to Greensboro on Thursday at CMc-NorthEast Stadium.
Kale Kiser had two triples for Kannapolis and drove in both runs for the Intimidators (29-35).
Catawba’s Joe Watson (Davie), who was drafted in the 12th round, has signed with the Texas Rangers.
Nathan Stamey won the 50th Toshiba/SignArt North Carolina Open held at The Club at Irish Creek. Stamey defeated amateur Jake McGlone of Charlotte, NC in a one-hole playoff for the championship.
Stamey, a PGA Apprentice Assistant Professional from Hilton Head Island, S.C., came into the final round with a two-stroke lead. He shot 1-under 70 to bring his total to 67-66-70 — 203. He was 10-under for the tournament. McGlone was the low amateur for the tournament. He’s a rising sophomore at UNC Greensboro.
Kannapolis’ Rick Lewallen won the Senior Bonus purse for competing PGA pros 50 and over. Lewallen finished 5-under at 70-70-68 — 208.
South Rowan’s Davis Richards shot a sizzling 66 on Thursday and ended the tournament at 3-under. He tied for 15th.
Former Salisbury standout Troy Beaver shot 72-72-74 — 218 and finished 3-over.
On Monday, the Pro-Am was held to raise money for the Hendrick Marrow Program.
Ron Campbell scored his first hole-in-one on the No. 8 hole. The Pro-Am event donated $10,000 to the Hendrick Marrow Program to help patients in need of a marrow transplant.
• In the eGolf Tour’s Forest Oaks Classic in Greensboro, Salisbury’s Frank Adams III shot 69-68 — 137 in the first two rounds. Adams is at 7-under, four shots off the pace. The cutline fell at 4-under. Salisbury’s Will Collins shot 2-under.
• The first Junior Mac tournament was held at McCanless on Thursday.

The Hurley YMCA Warriors track team competed in the NCAAU District Championships at Hough High in Cornelius. Most of the Warriors qualified and advanced to the AAU Region 5 Championships in Suffolk, Va., on June 27-29.
The Warriors will be competing this weekend at the Jim Law Invitational Track Meet at UNC Charlotte. Some Warrior coaches and parents will be competing in the Jim Law Masters Track Meet today.
Rebecca Cooper, East Rowan volleyball and girls track coach, is leaving East for Broome High School in Spartanburg, S.C.
Cooper will be he head varsity softball coach and the jayvee volleyball coach.
The East Carolina graduate was a standout at East as a player in softball, volleyball and basketball.
The NCAA Hall of Champions in Indiana is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Divisions II and III with an exhibit that includes Pfeiffer’s 1981 national-champion field hockey team, the first D-II field hockey champions.
Greg Tonnesen (Carson, Campbell) is playing for the Coral Springs Canes of the South Florida Collegiate League.
East Rowan’s Brittany Small placed third in the Powerade State Games in the 15-16 age division.
West Rowan catcher Marissa Yow, a Radford commit, and A.L. Brown’s Kelly Chrismon and Kaylee Cook have been selected to play for Region 6 in the Powerade State Games.
Davie County’s Sarah Myers and Kenzie Barneycastle will play for Region 7 in the State Games.
Carson’s Megan Bolick will play for the South team in the Powerade State Games.
The West Rowan girls basketball team is hosting a camp July 14-17 at West Rowan Middle from 4-7 p.m.
