Two Rowan County men were charged by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) with drug offenses related to the undercover purchases of heroin and oxymorphone between March and June 2014.
On June 20, Justin Wade Ames, 28, of the 600 block of Lippard Road, was charged and arrested for an incident on April 1 involving the sale of oxymorphone. Ames was charged with one count of possess with intent to sell and deliver oxymorphone and one count of maintaining a residence for keeping and selling controlled substances. Bond was set at $7,500.
On June 21, Travis Dane Irick, 24, a resident of the 100 block of Efird Road, Gold Hill, was arrested by deputies on 14 drug counts. The drug sales occurred on five different dates, with one involving Ames. The dates of offense and charges related to Irick are as follows:
March 5: selling heroin; possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin; maintaining a vehicle for keeping and selling controlled substances.
March 7: Selling heroin; possession with the intent to sell and deliver heroin; maintaining a vehicle for keeping and selling controlled substances.
April 1: Selling oxycodone; possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone.
April 3: Selling heroin; possession with the intent to sell and deliver heroin; maintaining a residence for keeping and selling controlled substances).
June 17: Trafficking heroin by sale; trafficking heroin by possession, trafficking heroin by transportation.
Irick was placed under a $500,000 secured bond.
