The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office confiscated pills and drug paraphernalia from a China Grove man earlier this week. James Andrew Brawley, 24, was found Monday to be in possession of two white pills, which officials determined to be Xanax. Deputies also found a cut straw inside his wallet. Brawley was issued a citation for possession of controlled schedule II substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brawley was convicted in October 2011 and May 2012 of misdemeanor drug possession, according to the N.C. Department of Corrections. In 2011, a then 22-year-old Brawley was charged with drug offenses following a traffic checkpoint where authorities found pills, a glass pipe, a small amount of marijuana and a straw officials said at the time, was likely to snort crushed pills.
