SPENCER — The public library in Spencer has new summer hours through Aug. 15, as well as a summer reading challenge for children headed to elementary school in the fall.
The library will be open from 9 a.m. until noon on Fridays this summer. Hours for the rest of week remain the same, 2 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
The summer reading challenge for kindergartners to rising fifth graders offers prizes for every hour that a child reads, as well as crafts and other activities from 3 to 3:45 p.m. every Tuesday through July 29.
