MOORESVILLE — A 76-year-old Mooresville woman said her daughter wiped out her entire bank account with a single check.
Rowan County Sheriff’s officials said Bonnie Dannette Eidson Breedlove, 50, of the 100 block of Edwards Road, took her mother’s checkbook and went to her bank to withdraw the money. Breedlove was charged with misdemeanor larceny and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.
It is not clear how much the woman withdrew, investigators said, the victim was checking with her bank to determine the exact amount.
The victim said the incident was discovered Thursday so deputies went to her house, where the daughter also lives. Breedlove told officials she didn’t know anything.
She gave deputies permission to search her truck. Deputies found the mother’s checkbook inside the truck’s glove box.
