Bring back beloved old TV shows
I would like to know what WJZY was thinking, dropping Antenna TV, which showed great old family shows such as “Mr. Ed,” “Green Acres,” “Father Knows Best” and such. This was the only channel that showed this type of programming, and they replaced it with a channel that shows movies. There are only about 10-15 channels that show movies, not counting the premium channels.
My wife and I enjoyed these shows, especially since they were so much better than watching shows about judges, or chit chat shows and the other lousy shows they put on during these hours, we watched them every afternoon and into the evening. It was so good to watch family-type humor and show how things were then.
From what I have seen, these movies are aimed at the same demographics as the old shows did, so that can’t be the reason. The only thing I can figure is that they did it for the same reason most channels put on the stale unimaginative shows, because they are cheaper and of course they must chase after the almighty dollar.
If you watched Antenna TV and want to try to get it back, please contact WJZY and show your displeasure with this change. I know in my house this channel will be greatly missed, and we will not watch that channel again until they return to the old format.

Think about it
I believe Reverend King’s letter (“Sex based? Really?” of July 14) is a little skewed in his logic.
He used athletic activities in his argument against the “GSA” (Gay Straight Alliance) club. I wonder how it would work, having boys and girls on the same athletic team, sharing the playing field, locker room and showers.
I bet once he thought it through, he would raise all kinds of heck about their inter-mingling.
Does he also believe in the same segregation of, say, a chess club or debating club?

Salisbury officials say they are trying to put the city manager’s departure behind them.
It sounds like the City Council and mayor are telling the citizens of Salisbury that this is none of your business and we can do anything we want. Also, could there be a cover up here?
