Salisbury Police cited a Wesley Drive man on marijuana possession after he made an abrupt turn across two lanes and into a restaurant parking lot in front of a police officer.
The incident occurred Sunday morning near Cook-Out when the officer saw a vehicle cross in front of him and turn quickly into the restaurant parking lot, in the 800 block of East Innes Street.
Police cited Maurice Lyerly Jr., 23, with possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container of alcohol.
The officer noticed the vehicle had several tree air fresheners hanging from the rearview mirror. The officer asked if there were illegal substances in the car and Lyerly said he had a grinder. The grinder had marijuana residue inside. The officer found marijuana rolling papers, some marijuana and a bottle of P&J Brandy under the front seat.
