A Wilson Road woman said a local businessman doing construction work on her home stole her Lowe’s Home Improvement gift card and ran over her foot in his haste to get away.
The woman, Patricia Hellard, told Salisbury Police that Danny Nunn Jr., 45, an employee with a company called Odd Jobs, came to her home Tuesday around 4:53 p.m.
Hellard mentioned the gift card to Nunn, who told her he could help her figure out how much money was left on the card.
Hellard stood on the roadside while Nunn sat in his silver four-door Hyundai to call to verify the card’s balance. The card had $150 on it and the next thing Hellard knew he put the car in drive and made a speedy exit. He ran over her foot in the process. She received bruises to her foot, a report said.
Police are looking for Nunn, who will be charged with misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Nunn was convicted in 2013 of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. He’s also been convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia, larceny, driving while impaired, carrying a concealed weapon, breaking and entering and worthless check, all misdemeanors.
