New year at Gray Stone underway

MISENHEIMER — Gray Stone Day School, a public charter high school located on Pfeiffer University’s campus in Misenheimer, welcomed 28 teachers and 430 students from seven nearby counties on Aug. 14.
Helen Nance, chief administrative officer, and Jeff Morris, associate director, are excited about the new school year.
An open house was held on Aug. 12 for all students and their families. New students attended orientation sessions on Aug. 12 and 13.
Fall sports include men’s soccer, women’s tennis, cross country and volleyball.
Students have additional opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities through clubs and organizations such as Student Council, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Student Optimist Club, Outdoor Club, DREAM Team and more.
Academic competition programs are available in Quiz Bowl, Mock Trial and more.
