A man was grazed by a pellet from a shotgun, when his father chased him out of the house and shot the gun in his direction, according to reports from the sheriff’s office.
Robert Moore and his son, John Derek Moore, were arguing inside their Leonard Road home, when Robert chased John into the backyard.
John hid, but his leg was grazed when Robert shot in his direction. John declined treatment from EMS and refused to press charges against his father.
When deputies were investigating, they found a three-foot marijuana plant in the back yard of the home.
Robert was charged with manufacturing marijuana, and was held at the Rowan County Detention center on a $2,000 bond. Robert also has pending charge for owning a firearm as a convicted felon.
Law enforcement officers were checking with West Virginia authorities before issuing the charge.
