The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education will discuss a property matter during a closed session scheduled at the beginning its meeting Monday.
Superintendent Dr. Lynn Moody said a piece of property near the district’s bus garage on Julian Road has been offered. The closed session has been moved to the beginning of the meeting because an attorney is involved.
Moody said the district doesn’t have a predetermined purpose for the property at this time.
The board will also listen to a presentation from SFL+A Architects, the company that was hired to handle plans for renovations at Knox Middle School and the consolidated elementary school in the western part of the county.
The board will discuss how educators should use Twitter, a proposed technology buy-back plan, school visits and the Literacy Summit, scheduled for Sept. 26.
Director of Secondary Education Eisa Cox will present the state’s graduation requirements to the board.
Policies to be discussed concern prequalification of bidders for construction, tobacco products, student behavior, discipline for students with disabilities
A discussion about the district’s maintenance department is also on the budget.
The Board of Education will meet for its work session Monday at 4 p.m. in the boardroom of the district’s executive offices, 314 N. Ellis St. in Salisbury.
