Salisbury man charged with robbing, drawing knife on a woman during carjacking

A Salisbury man was charged Tuesday with robbery after an August incident where he was accused of drawing a knife on a woman during a carjacking.
Deven Anthony Kimble, 33, also known as Devon Kimble, was charged with felony robbery with a firearm or dangerous weapon, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, attempted misdemeanor breaking and entering vehicles and misdemeanor communicating threats.
Kimble was accused of taking an iPhone, purse, wallet from a woman at knife point on Aug. 29, arrest warrants said.
The warrant also said while attempting to take her car and rob her, Kimble cut the victim with the knife on her forearm. He told the victim to get out of the car or he would kill her. Also on Aug. 29, a warrant said Kimble attempted to break into a car. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.
He has been charged with drug possession, worthless checks, larceny, driving while license revoked and assault on a female. He was convicted in May of assault on a law enforcement officer and is currently on three years probation for that offense.

• A woman reported Monday her jewelry was stolen sometime between Aug. 25 and Monday in the 500 block of Leazer Road.
• Joy Marie Roysdon, 22, was charged Monday with misdemeanor possession of controlled substance schedule VI in the 200 block of Dappler Lane.
• Montez Anton Jordan, 20, was charged Monday with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance schedule VI while at the Rowan County Courthouse.
• Houston Alexander Eury, 16, was charged Monday with misdemeanor larceny in the 300 block of Shore Acres Road.
• Cory Lynn Bruner Overcash, 31, was charged Monday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 400 block of West 12th Street.
• Rodni Jason Overcash, 43, was charged Monday with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon in the 400 block of West 12th Street.
