John C. Whitfield and D.J. Whitfield of Salisbury celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 25, 2014.
The Whitfields were married Sept. 25, 1954, at Clinton Presbyterian Church in Clinton, N.J., by the Rev. Frank Merriam.
Both retired, John was a Clinical Social Worker for Tri-County Mental Health Center for 31 years. D.J. was a Nurse Administrator at Rowan Memorial Hospital for 30 years.
The couple have two children, Jennifer E. Byers (Laine) of Salisbury and Jeff B. Whitfield (Leigh) of Holden Beach. They also have three grandsons.
