Neta Monroe column: Did the light bulb go off?

Someone may have told you something but you didn’t get it the first time, and then all of a sudden you get it. The light bulb went off.
That is what this message is about.
We can read the word every day, we can go to all the best schools of ministry, we can sit under good teaching, but if we do not have the Holy Spirit in us, if we are not a child of the most high God, the light bulb just won’t light up.
In other words we can be filled with knowledge and still walk in darkness. For example; Satan is filled with knowledge of the word, he knows all about Jesus and the Father, but he lives and walks in darkness. He will quote the word to you out of context, just as he did with Jesus in the wilderness, in Matthew chapter 4 v 5-7.
Have you asked someone, ‘do you know the Lord Jesus as your personal savior?’, only to have them snap at you and say, ‘I know who God is.’
My answer to that is so does Satan. He knows very well who God is, but he doesn’t KNOW Jesus.
To really KNOW someone is to spend a lot of time with that person. Spend time getting to know them in a more personal way. To know someone well, is to really listen to that person when they speak to you.
2 Cor 4 v 6…For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ….
So you see without KNOWING Jesus, the light bulb, the true meaning, the revelation of His word will never manifest for you the way our loving Father wants it to. He did not give us His word to be a mystery, but instead to be revealed to us through the Holy Spirit, Whom we receive when we accept Jesus as our Savior.
Life is so much better when there is Light with knowledge. AMEN!
John 1 v 4-5…In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it….
When a room is covered in darkness and someone strikes a tiny match, even that little touch of light will light up the room. You see darkness runs from light. Darkness hates light. Evil and sin is darkness. The reason darkness hates light, is because the light will reveal the ugliness of evil and sin. When we witness to others not with our words but just by the light that shines through us, just by our actions prompted by the Holy Spirit, actions of good and love toward others, then darkness will try to move to the other side of the room, the spirit of darkness on that person will try to keep them away from the Light that is shining through you. We must remember to always love the sinner and hate the sin. The word tells us that we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but with principalities of darkness.
Ephes. 6 v 12…for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places…
Where can we find this Light and this knowledge? First by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and then we allow that Light to shine through us for the world to see. The knowledge comes from the Light revealing His word to us.
Remember to STAY IN HIS WORD!
