An East Rowan High student faces felony charges after a school resource officer discovered prescription pills and material used for smoking on him.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Dontay Lamont Rozzel, 17, of the 100 block of Lavista Road, Rockwell Tuesday with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture schedule II, (Vyvanse) a prescription drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture schedule IV, (Alprazolam) a brand of Xanax and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
A report said the teen had E-cigarette liquid on him. School Resource Officer Scott Flowers arrested the teen the next day at his home.
Rozzel has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.
