Police cited a Salisbury man with simple marijuana possession after an officer smelled marijuana while on patrol Tuesday night.
Salisbury Police officials said Malik Rashad Jones, 20, of the 200 block of Vanderford Street, was in possession of 13.5 grams of marijuana.
A report said he tried to hide the drugs in the front waistband of his pants. The officer was driving near South West and Bank streets where two people were standing on the corner. The officer could smell marijuana from his window that was rolled down. The officer asked if the two men had marijuana and they said no.
The officer began patting them down when one of the men, Malik Jones, removed his hand from the hood of the officer’s car.
