First United Methodist Church will remember members of their church who, this past year, entered into the church triumphant Sunday morning at 11 a.m. at its annual All Saints service. A homily will be offered and the sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated by the Rev. Dr. Mark Conforti, senior pastor.

Director of music Matthew Michael Brown will conduct George Friedrich Händel’s setting of the Te Deum Laudamus, composed for Queen Caroline in 1714. The Te Deum is an ancient hymn of praise, having been set to music by numerous composers for centuries.

Handel’s six movement setting will be accompanied by orchestra personnel from the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra. Professional soloists include mezzo-soprano Alden Pridgen, tenor Wade Henderson, and bass Scott Macleod.

Other music for the service will include a new anthem by celebrated American composer Dan Forrest. The service will close with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ stirring tune Sine Nomine set to the hymn For All the Saints Who From Their Labors Rest. Brown will play “Final” from Sonata No. 1 in D minor by Felix-Alexandre Guilmant for the closing voluntary.
