Teen charged with stealing guns, ammunition

A Salisbury teen stole guns, ammunition, security cameras and jewelry in two separate break-ins in late October, according to law enforcement reports.
Isiah Paul Mendez, 18, of the 1200 block of N. Church St. in Salisbury was charged with two counts of breaking or entering, two counts of larceny after breaking or entering and one count of larceny of a fire arm.
On Oct. 22, Mendez broke into a home in the 600 block of Grampian Road in Mount Ulla and a home in the 2900 block of Goodnight Road in Salisbury.
He stole security cameras, a box of 12 gauge shotgun shells, 45 caliber ammunition and a 20 gauge single-shot shotgun from the first home, valued at $1,000.
He stole a gold chain and a 12 gauge Mossberg pump shotgun, valued at $500, from the second home.
Mendez was issued a $15,000 bond.
