Program on solar power planned Dec. 8

A free program on solar power will be offered at the Kannapolis Branch of Cabarrus County Public Library on Monday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m.
Lane Wallace, community outreach manager of Solarize Salisbury-Rowan/Smart Power, will speak about how solar power is now a smart financial decision for homes and businesses.
Solarize is designed to educate area residents on the advantages of solar for their homes and businesses and to help with the process of obtaining solar. The Solarize Initiative, run through Catawba College’s Center for the Environment, is a not-for-profit program that facilitates finding you the most qualified vendors to provide solar energy solutions for your home or business.
With zero-down financing, prices at an all-time low and the tax incentives for solar expiring soon, now is the best time to consider solar. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. The library is at 850 Mountain Street, Kannapolis. For more information, call 704-920-1180.
