A thief managed to drive off with a car from a local dealership this week after breaking into the business, police officials said.
Someone broke into Auto House of Salisbury, located at 428 S. Jake Alexander Blvd., through the front entrance. The break-in occurred around 8:30 p.m. sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday. The burglar took the keys, a license tag and a 2007 silver Audi A4.
The thief broke a window, which was initially thought to be the point of entry, said Police Capt. Shelia Lingle.
Lingle said the person who reported the break-in said the keys to other cars were found on the floor beside the broken window. There was also a petty cash box found outside the business. The cameras had been moved and were pointed toward the ceiling, Lingle said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
