An unknown woman remains at large after police said she attempted to use a stolen bank card and a driver’s license that belonged to a Florida woman at a local Wells Fargo on Friday.
A bank employee said she’d just heard about a law enforcement bulletin concerning a woman who’d been trying to use a stolen Florida woman’s card and license. When a woman drove up to the window, the bank employee remembered the bulletin that also gave a vehicle description that matched the white Volkswagen the suspect was driving.
The woman wanted to withdraw $1,800 from the Wells Fargo at 1300 West Innes St. The bank employee tried to stall the woman by asking that she come into the bank. The woman insisted she was in a hurry. The employee refused to give the woman the card or the license back and she drove off, a report said.
The license of the car was from Fayetteville and the stolen card and driver’s license were from Daytona, Fla. The woman was long gone by the time police arrived at the bank.
