Blotter: Teen steals mom’s car; alcohol found inside

Police charged a teen with driving a stolen car and having opened alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. Authorities say the car belonged to his mother.
Jose Gilberto Meza-Vasques, 18, of the 1600 block of East Kivett Drive, High Point, was charged with felony receiving or transferring stolen vehicles and misdemeanor failure to appear. He was also issued citations for no operator’s license and an open container.
A Salisbury Police officer stopped the vehicle Monday around 4:30 a.m. near the Waffle House on East Innes Street. The officer ran the license plate and the vehicle was reported stolen.
When the officer stopped the vehicle Meza-Vasques said the vehicle belonged to his mother and he took it on Sunday. The officer saw the teen had three open containers of alcohol in the car as well.

• A man reported on Saturday a larceny occurred in the 1000 block of Lantana Court, Davidson.
• A woman reported on Saturday a burglary occurred in the 2100 block of Scout Road.
• A woman reported on Saturday she was the victim of a physical assault in the 2000 block of Old Union Church Road.
• Mark Albert Williams, 50, was charged on Dec. 11 with misdemeanor assault on female in the 8300 block of Grandeur Drive.
• Quamaine Derrell Imes, 22, was charged on Dec. 11 with misdemeanor larceny while at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
• A juvenile, 15, was charged on Dec. 11 with simple assault in the 1100 block of Children’s Circle, Rockwell.
• Jerry Lynn Beeler, 42, was charged on Dec. 11 with misdemeanor communicating threats in the 300 block of Happy Lake Road, Rockwel.
• Melissa Ann Sechler, 31, was charged on Dec. 11 with school attendance law violation in the 5300 block of Cavin Lane, Kannapolis.
• Grover Todd Sartain, 40, was charged on Dec. 11 with felony failure to register as a sex offender in the 10 block of Crystal Creek Drive, China Grove.
• Melissa Yvette Snow, 46, was charged on Friday with misdemeanor school law violation in the 500 block of of North Enochville Avenue, Kannapolis.
• John Paul Shaver 21, was charged on Friday with misdemeanor driving after consuming alcohol in the 3200 block of East N.C. 152.
• Carolyn Everhart Grooms, 72, was charged on Friday with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance schedule II in the 1900 block of Stokes Ferry Road.
• Patrick Dean Blakey, 24, was charged on Saturday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 4100 block of West N.C. 152, China Grove.
• Barbara Miller Allen, 58, was charged on Saturday with felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture a schedule III in the 100 block of Morgan Acres Drive, Gold Hill.
• Kevin Nathaniel Williams, 26, was charged on Sunday with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance schedule VI in the 70000 block of southbound Interstate 85, China Grove.
• Randy Bryson Null, 19, was charged on Sunday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 2400 block of Lower Stone Church Road, Rockwell.
