The City of Salisbury will host New Year’s Eve at the Bell Tower Dec. 31.

Beginning at 11 p.m., families and friends can enjoy live music, hot chocolate and coffee, and watch a live feed of the New Year’s celebration in Times Square in New York City.

The event will take place at Bell Tower Park at the corner of West Innes and South Jackson streets. At midnight, Salisbury firefighters will use their fire bell to ring in the new year.

The event is free and open to the public. This is the city’s Parks and Recreation Department’s second year hosting the event.

Vivian Koontz, parks and recreation event coordinator, said the event will go on rain or shine unless the weather is too severe.
