A former manager at a local McDonald’s has been charged with stealing from the fast-food restaurant she worked at, according to police.
Salisbury Police arrested Erin Lynn Upright, 36, at her home on the 80o block of South Ellis Street Wednesday on two warrants for larceny for stealing thousands of dollars from her former employer — the McDonald’s on East Innes Street.
According to police, Upright took $1,800 worth of bank deposits in November. But when McDonald’s realized the money had not been deposited and that Upright had taken it, she wasn’t fired but allowed to keep her job and start paying back the money.
Police said she had used the money to pay bills.
But McDonald’s realized that another deposit, worth nearly $3,800, wasn’t made in mid-December. When confronted with the new allegation, police said Upright quit her job. McDonald’s reported the incidents to police in mid January.
Upright was charged with two counts of larceny by an employees.
