Cleveland man refuses to cooperate with police
A Cleveland man was arrested on Friday after Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a domestic dispute.
James Shannon Gregory, 32, of the 1000 block of Houston Lane in Cleveland, was charged with misdemeanor charges of communicating threats, resisting a public officer and communicating threats.
According to the arrest report, Gregory orally threatened a family member and two responding deputies, refused to be handcuffed and be placed into one of the deputy’s cars, and kicked another deputy in the legs a number of times.
He was arrested and placed in the Rowan County Detention Center. His bond was placed at $5,000.
Kannapolis woman arrested on drug charges
Police arrested a Kannapolis woman when they found marijuana and narcotics that she allegedly planned to sell.
Shakeria Denise Preston, of the 800 block of Walker Street in Kannapolis, had 11.5 grams of marijuana, Suboxone strips and Xanax and a plastic container for the marijuana.
She was charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a schedule III controlled substance; felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Preston’s bond was set at $3,500.
