Blotter: Man robbed by Craigslist seller

A man told Salisbury Police he was robbed Wednesday afternoon when he tried to buy a cellphone from a seller off Craigslist. The man, 27, met the seller at Claymont Drive and gave the seller $400, but when he opened the box, it was empty, a report said.
The seller took off into nearby woods and the man chased him, but lost him.
When the victim looked back at the original post regarding the cellphone, it had been removed.

• A woman reported on Wednesday she was scammed out of $1,511.85 in the 100 block of Carousel Drive, Gold Hill.
• A woman reported on Wednesday she was the victim of an assault in the 100 block of Andrews Ford Road.
• Michael Stirewalt, 16, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor weapons violations while at the Rowan County Courthouse.
• Christie Michelle Myers, 26, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 100 block of Andrews Ford Road.
