The North Carolina State Beekeeping Association will be at the Salisbury Southern States Saturday to host a Beekeeping Seminar at 3 p.m.
Honeybees pollinate $15 billion of crops each year and are responsible for pollinating one third of the American diet — over 90 different crop varieties. The state of Virginia is now paying folks to take up beekeeping, as it is vital in pollinating the nation’s crops.
Southern States will feature their new beekeeping product line and will offer 25 percent off all bee supplies. The store is located at 1710 Jake Alexander Blvd. W. For more information, visit www.southernstates.com/salisbury or call 704-636-4290.
