The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect from the East Rowan YMCA theft as 22-year-old Witt Darnell Alexander Jr., of Mahaley Avenue in Salisbury.

Alexander was identified from tips received from the public. During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered Alexander allegedly also went to the Salisbury YMCA on the same day and stole items there. Financial cards were stolen during these incidents and used at several locations around Rowan County.

The Rowan Sheriff’s Office has warrants for the arrest of Alexander for larceny and financial card theft and three counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
