West Rowan junior softball pitcher Peyton Greene is the Post’s Athlete of the Week.

Greene led the Falcons to two big conference wins against county rivals and pushed West Rowan into first place in the 3A South Piedmont Conference standings.

Greene did the job in the circle as well as at the plate.

In Tuesday’s 6-4 win at South Rowan, Greene drove in three runs and struck out 10 batters.

In Friday’s 3-0 home win against Carson, Greene hit a two-run homer, pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11 batters.
