Plans for a new hotel on Jake Alexander Boulevard will be discussed during the Salisbury Planning Board meeting Tuesday.
A 93-room, six-story Home 2 Suites hotel is planned for a piece of wooded land off Jake Alexander Boulevard South between Interstate 85 and the Econo Lodge hotel. The developer is Narsi Properties.
The land parcel is only 1.43 acres, and the developer is seeking approval of a Conditional District Overlay to allow for a six-story building — four is the maximum allowed in the city’s Commercial-Mixed Use zones.
The board meets Tuesday at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
In other business Tuesday, the board will:
• Review a Land Development Ordinance amendment request to allow “daycare” as a permitted use at the office building at 108 Dorsett Drive off Statesville Boulevard.
• Review a request from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College to rezone 9.65 acres from Residential to Institutional Campus so that the entire campus is zoned the same and to allow the college to install solar arrays to help power the campus.
