A small fire Wednesday evening at Krispy Kreme resulted in the doughnut shop having to close for the night and into this morning.

A store employee said no one was hurt when the brewing kettle caught on fire around 7:15 p.m. There was no damage to the building, but a new brewing kettle had to be ordered and installed.

The employee said the business will reopen later today.

Krispy Kreme is at the corner of West Innes Street and Merritt Avenue.
