Wayward Reason Band to return to Faith Street Dance

Wayward Reason Band will return for Faith’s Street Dance this year, Town Clerk Karen Fink told the town’s Board of Aldermen Tuesday at its April board meeting.

The Faith tradition was revived four years ago, and has grown in popularity each year. Last year, 200-300 people attended. This year’s celebration will be held June 20 from 7-11 p.m.

Funded by donations from the town’s merchants, it’s an opportunity celebration from the merchants to give back to their patrons, said Mayor Todd Peeler.

“The town merchants really sponsor this,” Fink said.

The Wayward Reason, which plays country, rock and beach music, will perform for the second year.

The Street Dance is not a fundraising event, Fink said, adding that all the money that comes in for the event is used for the event that year.

She’s continuing to get donations “here and there,” Fink told the board.

“I’m hoping that it will pick up a little better,” she added.

Wayward Reason Band is charging $1,200 and will provide their own lights.

The town is still pricing stage options.
