LANDIS — Landis’ Board of Aldermen will consider approving financing for its new automatic electric and water meters Monday.
The town received a $1 million for the grant conversion, which will allow them to be check water and electric levels from a central location.
It should take three months to get the equipment ordered and software configured, as well as an additional two to three months to install the meters. The final phase, which takes about a month, includes training and working through any problems that arise.
The board will also hold a public hearing about the voluntary satellite annexation of property given to the town at the intersection of Old Beatty Ford Road and Dial Street. If the board votes to annex the property, a public hearing and a vote will be held to zone that property.
There will be a public hearing on the town’s proposed town nuisance abatement ordinance.
Last week, the board took out language allowing them to enforce the policy outside of town limits. Board members felt the county has sufficient nuisance ordinances and that it was outside their authority to hold a non-town member to the town’s policies.
The board will also consider declaring certain town-owned equipment as surplus, and will receive the projected revenue for its 2015-16 budget.
The Board of Aldermen will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at Landis’ Town Hall, 312 S. Main St.
