Kannapolis City school board to meet Monday

The Kannapolis City Board of Education will vote on several technology related policies Monday.
It will vote on revisions to the district’s appropriate Internet use for staff and students, as well as a new digital and social media procedures policy.
The board will also vote on a policy regarding the release of student directory information.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Chip Buckwell will discuss the state’s new 10-point grading scale, and Annie Parker will talk about the state’s performance-based report cards.
The board will also discuss several budget amendments and the Cabarrus County lottery application.
The school board will meet Monday at 4 p.m. for closed session. Open session will begin at 5 p.m. The board will return to closed session after open session if necessary. The meeting will be held at the district’s central office, 100 Denver Street, in Kannapolis.
