Authorities have not released any new details or developments in two murders that occurred last week, days apart, that claimed the lives of an 18-year-old and a father of four.

On May 18, Steven Omari Rosario, a former North Rowan High student was shot and killed in a Fulton Street apartment where he was staying, family says, with his uncle. He’d just returned to the area from Florida where he lived with his parents.

A neighbor called police around 6:47 am, but authorities believe the shooting happened sometime between 5 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. when neighbors said they heard shots being fired.

Police removed an interior door, believed to be kicked in by the assailant.

Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Wednesday no new details were available.

Days later on May 21, officers with the East Spencer Police questioned residents at a small apartment building in the 800 block of South Long Street at West Cauble Street following a early shooting.

Officials said Ke’Juan Dishad Lamont Sweat, 22, was at that apartment building where he lived when he was shot there. He attempted to head to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for help, but crashed the Honda he was driving.

Salisbury Police investigators found Sweat in the Honda at the corner of Annandale Avenue and West Henderson Street, across from Hurley Park and Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Investigators found the wrecked car riddled with bullet holes in the left passenger side door.

Sweat was taken inside the hospital where he later died. A 4-year-old believed to be his son was shot and has since been released from a Charlotte hospital. Two other children were in the vehicle, but not injured.

SBI spokesman Tony Underwood said on Wednesday agents are still pursuing leads, but no arrests have been made.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating with assistance from Salisbury police and the East Spencer Police Department.

No motive has been given in either incident, however investigators urge anyone with information into these two murders to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or the Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333.
