Karen Komosa Bestman of Salisbury graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law May 8-9, 2015, with a Juris Doctor.
A 2007 graduate of North Rowan High School and 2010 graduate of the University of Georgia, she was recipient of a NCCU Full Tuition Scholarship, Law Eagle Scholarship and NCCU Foundation Scholarship. She received the IL Legal Writing Book Award, was on the Dean’s List 2012-2015, and was a staff editor and a member of the Symposium Committee for the NCCU Law Review. She has served legal internships with McGuire Woods LLP, Atlanta, Ga.; The Cola Cola Company, Atlanta, Ga.; Justice Cheri Beasley, N.C. Supreme Court; and BCBSNC.
The daughter of Adolphus Bestman of Salisbury and Darling Bestman of Concord, Karen will begin employment as an in-house attorney for BCBSNC in September.
