Salisbury Police say a woman was robbed in the Daymark Recovery Services parking lot early Thursday and hit over the head when she tried to hold onto her purse.

A man came up behind the victim in the parking lot of the center around 7:45 a.m. and grabbed her purse. She pulled it back out of the hands of the robber, and he hit her on the back of the head with a sharp object.

The woman received a cut to her head. She was treated on the scene by Rowan County EMS. The man, whom she described as wearing a hooded sweatshirt, ran toward nearby a apartment complex.

A police K-9 was called in to search, but no one was ever located.

• A woman reported on Tuesday she parked her vehicle and someone took items from it in the 600 block of Walton Road.

• A man reported on Tuesday he was the victim of a fight that occurred in the 200 block of Wakefield Drive.

• A woman reported on Tuesday her golf cart was stolen from the 800 block of St. Matthews Church Road.

• A man reported on Tuesday he was assaulted in the 1100 block of Trexler Road.

• A woman reported Tuesday someone forced their way into her home that is being remodeled in the 2900 block of Woodleaf Road.

• Crossroads Grocery reported on Tuesday the store was the victim of debit/ATM card fraud at 3900 Bringle Ferry Road.

• A woman reported on Tuesday someone broke into her property in the 100 block of Iris Lane, Kannapolis.

• Deputies responded on Tuesday and charged Donald Ray Blevins, 53, with felony possession of a controlled substance schedule II in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street, Spencer.

• A woman reported on Tuesday she was the victim of an assault in the 3800 block of Miller Road and Little Creek Drive.

• David Alan Huffman, 23, was charged on Monday with misdemeanor possession of marijuana in the 3400 block of South Main Street.

• Judith Elizabeth Crotchfelt, 32, was charged on Monday with felony obtaining property by false pretenses in the 100 block of Crystal Creek Drive, China Grove.

• Jason Ray Williams, 29, was charged on Tuesday with felony possession of stolen goods in the 2000 block of Faith Road.

• Taylor Scott Bowles, 22, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor marijuana possession at Crescent and Faith roads.

• Terry Isaac Brown, 31, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor communicating threats while at the Rowan County jail.
