Intimidators Baseball: Relievers key Kannapolis comeback

Stout relief pitching lifted Kannapolis to a 6-4 win against visiting Greensboro in South Atlantic League action on Tuesday.
Jacob Morris (3-2) slowed down Greensboro in the seventh and eighth innings and gave Kannapolis a chance to rally. The Intimidators (28-30) overcame a late 4-2 deficit.
Matt Cooper pitched the ninth inning for his fifth save of the season.
Named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team on Tuesday, shortstop Eddy Alvarez went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Alexander Simon and Ryan Leonards had two hits each and both drove in runs.
Christian Stringer had the run-scoring double in the seventh inning that tied the game at 4-4. Simon singled home Stringer with the go-ahead run. Alvarez’s RBI double boosted the lead to 6-4.
Brian Schales had a two-out, two-run double for the Grasshoppers as they built a lead.
Spencer Adams pitched six innings for the Intimidators and allowed four runs.
Greensboro starting pitcher Tyler Kolek, the second overall pick by the Miami Marlins in the 2014 draft, worked four innings, giving up two runs.
The Intimidators continue the three-game series on Wednesday. Yelmison Peralta (2-4) takes the mound for Kannapolis.
