N.C. Department of Transportation will close the Stokes Ferry Road bridge that crosses High Rock Lake in Salisbury while crews perform maintenance on beam ends and steel plank flooring.

The work will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 24.

Motorists traveling Stokes Ferry Road will use Agner Road, Bringle Ferry Road, St. Matthews Road and Ribelin Road to detour around the closure.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.

NCDOT bridge maintenance crews will start repairing a concrete slab along an eastbound portion of Statesville Boulevard at the Second Creek bridge in western Rowan County next week.

The work will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 15, and is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 17.

For the eastbound bridge closure, motorists will use N.C. 801, Sherrills Ford Road and Barringer Road as the eight-mile signed detour route. The westbound bridge will remain open to traffic.

Traffic will be detoured along Andrews Street near Spencer as DOT contractors begin warranty repair work of existing approach concrete slabs at the bridge over Town Creek next week. This work is part of the extended warranty covered by Blythe Construction as part of the I-85 project that was completed in 2008.

The work will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 15, and is expected to be completed by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 20.

From Andrews Street, motorists will use Mill Run Road, East Jefferson Street, Long Ferry Road, North Salisbury Avenue and I-85 S/U.S. 52 as the signed detour route.
