A Texas man was charged with marijuana possession and having brass knuckles Monday following a traffic stop at the intersection of North Ellis and West Innes streets.

Salisbury Police charged Chandler Spencer Reese, 20, of the 4900 block of Bluestar Drive, with the misdemeanor marijuana offense and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon offenses after he ran a red light, a report said.

Once he stopped his vehicle, the driver, later identified as Reese, attempted to get out of the vehicle. The officer instructed Reese to stay in the vehicle. He seemed really nervous, the officer noted in the report.

When Reese reached for his registration from the glove box the officer saw a plastic bag of marijuana hanging out of his pocket. The brass knuckles were seen inside the glove box when Reese opened it. The bag contained eight grams of marijuana.

Reese has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.
