South Rowan JROTC awards

On May 20, 64 awards were presented to South Rowan JROTC cadets, instructed by Maj. William Lowe, MSG Dean Mullinax and MSG Tim Morris.
Scholastic Excellence Awards were given to cadets that are in the top 25 percent of his or her class in academics and in their JROTC subjects. Justin Hill, Annie Reimer, Antonio Valente, Sabrina Broadway, Timothy Bryant and Andrew Perry received this award, which was presented by Bill Corriher.
The Military Excellence Awards, also presented by Corriher, were given to cadets that have demonstrated outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character and citizenship. The cadets who received this award were: Jason Bryant, Jeffery Woodward, Timothy Cox, Chase Faine, Paxton Brown, Brandon Briggs, Adrian Figueroa, Brittney Walters, Kaleb Trimnal and Jeremy Hilton.
Terry Holt presented the Sons of the American Revolution Award to Tyler Fields, and Merry Lauder presented the Daughters of the American Revolution medal for excellence, dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership and fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of the Reserve Officer Training Corps to Hailey O’Neal and Alex McDaries. The Military Officer Association Award was presented by Charles Langlais to Alex McDaries.
The following students also received medals: Ashley Hancock and Annie Reimer, Honor Guard; Jacob Harrison, Color Guard; Dillon Minehart, Order of the World Wars; William Drye, National Sojourners; Kayla McChesney, Ashley Hancock, Dillon Minehart, Andrew Perry, Gary Doyle, Sabrina Broadway, Luke Travis, Kaleb Beaver and Brian Fink, Superior Cadet; Jacob Harrison, Purple Heart; Patrick Long, Jason Bryant, Timothy Bryant, Kayla McChesney, Eli Johnson, Katie Pressley, Hunter Long, Charles McCraven, Triston Gabriel, Josh Sifford, Sawyer Smallwood, Charles Stubbs, Brandon Briggs, Ethan Todd, James Hooper, Glorian Wilson, Stetson Johnston, Adam McFarling, Willis Hobbs, Landon Ingle, Kaleb Trimnal and Jeremy Hilton, Reserve Officer Association; Glen Gilbert and Angelina Lombardi, Association of the U.S. Army; Kaleb King, Scottish Right, and Glen Gilbert and David Kiser, ROTC Recognition Award.
Corriher also presented the Outstanding Cadets of the Year Awards to Matthew Milem and Aaron Rousey.
During the Senior Awards ceremony, Corriher presented all seven applicants for the Wild Bill Scholarship $600 each. These scholarships were made possible through numerous supporters from the community. The recipients were Davin Wilhem, Dylan Briggs, Daphne Davis, Destiny Whitman, Jonathon Turner, Matthew Milem and Aaron Rousey.
