CHARLOTTE — Dari Caldwell, president of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, as been named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s Women in Business list. Caldwell joins 24 other women from around the region who are on the list. A reception honoring the women will be held Monday at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel.

Caldwell came to Rowan Medical Center in 2010. “Under her watch, the hospital has implemented initiatives to expand access to care, boosted clinical quality and innovated patient care,” The Business Journal said.

Kinzey to be adviser for College of Charleston

Ruth Kinzey, president of The Kinzey Company, was named an executive adviser to the College of Charleston’s Communication Advisory Council. Kinzey served six years on the council prior to this appointment.

Kinzey’s career spans more than 35 years in the corporate and consulting communication arenas. She owns a reputation management firm, The Kinzey Company, which is headquartered in Salisbury. She is a published author and a professional speaker. Kinzey teaches for Rutgers University in its online communications master’s degree program. She also is on the global editorial board for CW (Communication World) magazine and is a guest blogger on subjects of sustainability and corporate social responsibility for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center.

Legal Aid Society seminar

KANNAPOLIS — Comfort Keepers and Whitley’s Funeral Home will hold a Caring Connections seminar Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Whitley’s Annex Chapel at 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd.

Shazia Keller, attorney with the N.C. Legal Aid Society, along with other professionals in the area, to discuss concerns people may have on elder abuse, senior fraud and various aspects of assistance available through the Legal Aid Society.

Real estate group will talk strategy

The Rowan Real Estate Investors and Associates will meet on Tuesday and the topic will be “Investor Marketing and Strategies.”

The group will meet at Ryan’s Steakhouse on Jake Alexander Boulevard near Interstate 85. The meeting starts at 7 p.m., but feel free to come early and enjoy dinner with other investors.

The purpose of the group is to provide information regarding real estate investing in Rowan County by meeting regularly and exchanging ideas regarding how to buy, sell, rent and rehab properties. Fowler joins Fidelity Bank

FUQUAY-VARINA — Fidelity Bank has announced Lynn Fowler has joined its team as vice president and business solutions officer.

In her position, Fowler will be responsible for analyzing the need of Fidelity’s business customers and providing cash management solutions to create efficiencies and simplicity in their daily operations. Lynn will be responsible for the Fidelity Bank’s central and western territories that includes Alamance, Cumberland, Montgomery, Iredell, Moore, Forsyth, Lee, Randolph, Davidson, Rockingham, Cleveland, Guilford, Caswell, Richmond, Hoke, Chatham, Rowan and Gaston counties. She will also be responsible for Franklin and Henry counties in Virginia. Her office will be located at the Fidelity Bank branch at 1035 Randolph Street, Thomasville.

Fowler has 34 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Fidelity Bank, she worked at NewBridge Bank as senior vice president in treasury services. She has also held IT and operations management positions at NewBridge Bank.

She attended Walters State Community with a concentration in English and is a member of North Carolina Treasury Management Association. Lynn and her husband, Chris, reside in Lexington and have a son, Travis.

Brady selected by Thrivent

Eric Brady of Salisbury, a Financial Consultant with Thrivent Financial, qualified to attend the Summit Circle conference by providing outstanding financial guidance, solutions and service to members of the organization in 2014.
